The
Sneedville/Hancock
Chamber & Community Partners Inc. welcomes you to visit our
community. The Chamber was originally formed in 1997 by a group of
dedicated people
who
cared. Many years later the Chamber & Community Partners
worked
together as one. In 2009 we held our first 4th of July parade
with great
pride and success. Our Fall Festival celebrated its 34th
year in 2010 along with a Gospel Concert.
At Christmas we hold an evening parade to welcome
in the
season, a lighting ceremony at the courthouse and a
Christmas Market Place full of vendors, entertainment, beautiful
holiday lights and festivities.
The
city of Sneedville is small compared to
some but anyone who comes to visit will always feel welcome.
Hancock County Tn. is well known for our American flags
though out the county. Sneedville is the county seat and we
take pride in that, during the 4th of July our flags fly to honor the
veterans , at Christmas our courthouse displays nearly a million
lights and the smiles on the childrens faces makes our holiday
shine.
Vardy Blackwater is the historical site of the
Mulungeon
Heritage, dating back to early 1800's. Each year hundreds of
people gather for a reunion and stories about Mahalia Mullins.
A Bluegrass festival is held in honor
of Jimmy Martin at the end of May.
The Sneedville/Hancock Chamber
& Partners work
hard on behalf of our County. The local businesses are always available
for help with sponsorships and for that we thank
them. We hope you
will come to visit us. Life is good on our side of this mountain. |
